The route starts in Mantello and coincides with that of the Sentiero Valtellina to the bridge over the Adda.
From here, for a few kilometres, it runs inside the built-up area of Dubino on mixed roads.
There are plans to build a new route through the Pian di Spagna.
Between Verceia and Novate Mezzola are the most scenically significant stretches along Lake Novate. The route is always flat until the entrance to Chiavenna.
Here he changes and the climb to the Swiss border begins. The gradient is always bearable even with low engine assistance. On this section you can visit places of interest from both a historical and naturalistic point of view: the old town centre of Chiavenna, the crotti area, Piuro with the Palazzo Vertemate, the archaeological excavations and the Acquafraggia waterfalls, and finally the artificial lake of Villa di Chiavenna.
